Frescobol game has its origins in Rio de Janeiro on the infamous Copacabana Beach, Brazil in the mid 1940’s. Who knows, probably everything started in front of the post number 9 where we all love to go for a sunkissed moments and a dip? "It's a great workout," our friends in Brazil say. "You work out the whole body, upper and lowe limbs, not to mention the mind. We play frescobol to relax a little bit and the game is a great way to relieve the stress and enjoy some time with friends."
Originally Frescobol was played with hand shaped wooden rackets and tennis balls. The game is played in any open area, beach, park or a garden at the backyard of your house.
The rules? Easy - two players face one another with the objective of hitting the ball as many times as possible without the ball hitting the ground. In other words you don’t have an opponent but rather a partner. As partners, frescobol players stand facing each other at around 5-6 meters apart. The aim is to support your partner rather than to try and score points or winning.
This set, handmade for yamabahari in a carefully chosen artisanal studio with a real attention to detail, comes with two paddles, two high bounce rubber balls, and a water resistant drawstring branded bag.
